About The Event

The program will begin with information about the current situation in Central Oregon regarding housing and homelessness, highlighting the expansion of services, efforts of collaboration and continuing challenges of providing a seamless continuum of services. We will then focus on the experience of being homeless, from the factors that create homelessness and the challenges that people experience while homeless. There will be first-hand accounts from people who have experienced homelessness, along with service providers who have helped support people’s efforts to become re-housed and to move forward in their lives. One area of emphasis will be how health issues are very difficult to manage and treatment is sometimes very difficult to obtain.
